Jefferson County Vision (JCV) is entering its third year of existence and is seeking concerned citizens to continue its fight against heavy industry in Jefferson County. JCV has been and will continue to be a grass-roots organization and has thrived because it has depended upon volunteers with dedication and diverse skill sets. There is a new opportunity available for those who want to carry on our battle at a higher level.
Thus, JCV is seeking nominations for Treasurer and Director(s) who would serve on the governing body. JCV is a 501(c)4 organization formed in 2018, whose mission is to lead legal, political, and community action to support sustainable growth, without heavy industry, and to empower our citizen’s voices to ensure clean, transparent government in Jefferson County.
A slate of nominees will be selected by a committee chaired by JCV President Stacy Tabb, and including Vice President Tim Ross, Acting Treasurer Catherine Jozwik, Secretary Marie Uehling, and Director Anne Sentz. A diverse range of skills and experiences suitable for nonprofit governance is being sought among nominees. Desirable qualifications include a passion for the JCV’s mission and commitment to working with like-minded organizations and individuals. Nominees may reside in Jefferson County or adjacent counties in WV. Board positions are unpaid and a commitment is sought to serve for at least one year.
The Board of Directors focuses on JCV’s strategy, financial stability, and operations. Meetings are currently weekly, in person or by conference call. All nominations should include both the nominee’s and the nominator’s contact information, with a description of the person’s relevant experience, skills, and attributes. Additional materials, such as a résumé, are welcome, as are self-nominations.
Nominations should be received not later than July 3rd, to Stacy Tabb, Nominating Committee Chair at firstname.lastname@example.org or by mail to Jefferson County Vision, PO Box 103, Shenandoah Junction, WV 25442.
