Comprehensive Plan

Comprehensive Plan

Say No to Toxic Heavy Industry

Comprehensive plans for Jefferson County and the locales contained within will shape the future of what our home looks like.  The comprehensive plans should NOT include any heavy industry.  These plans are reviewed when businesses express an interest in coming to Jefferson County.  Most recently, a request was submitted to rezone an area to accommodate heavy industry.  The petition was suspended when the requested amendment was considered inconsistent with the city of Ranson’s Comprehensive Plan.  You can read more about that win here.

Jefferson County is currently working on their Comprehensive Plan which will carry us through to 2045.  It’s time to participate and provide feedback.  The Agricultural Input Meeting for the 2045 Comprehensive Plan is being held on September 13 at Washington High school 7:00-9:00 pm at 300 Washington Patriots Drive.  You can read more about what will be discussed here. Following that the second public input meeting is being held on September 18 at Jefferson High School 7:00-9:00pm at 4141 Flowing Springs Rd.  More information can be found on the flyer here.
