Ranson Redo—AGAIN!

Ranson Redo—AGAIN!

June 24, 2020 Rockwool, toxicrockwool.com

Ranson, W.Va (June 24, 2020) — The Ranson City Council has decided that their approval of the Zoning Ordinance wasn’t proper. According to an announcement from Ranson City Manager Tony  Grant, those who registered to participate in the June 23 public hearing should have received an email update this afternoon (be sure to check your spam folders). Ranson City Council will reconvene on Tuesday, June 30 for a special meeting scheduled for 7 p.m.

City Manager Tony Grant admitted in his email that the remote meeting technology used yesterday “did not facilitate full and fair public discussion and public deliberation.” All registered speakers were not permitted to give their testimony, nor was the public able to view or hear the meeting’s conclusion due to the technical difficulties. While a vote on Ordinance #2017-302 was taken last night, that vote will not be recorded as the final action.

Ranson also confirmed it will contact those who were unable to be heard by the Council during the public comment portion of the meeting and provide instructions on how to speak. A vote on the second reading will take place after remaining comments are heard.

Concerns are being addressed regarding the implementation of the special meeting and we are working to clarify the details.

Those who are interested in viewing the re-enactment again will need to register using this updated link: https://cityofransonwv.net/rccsm
